HONG KONG and MACAO Travel Diaries (2018)

DECEMBER 2018

你好 , it's said that ' A visit to Hong Kong is the perfect balance of east and west coming together.'
As, The Hong Kong Tourism Board describes the city as “a kaleidoscope of life, a sophisticated fusion of East and West, a city of diversity where new and old meet at every turn.” Despite the tired “east-west-fusion” cliché, it’s not a bad description.

“A dream of Manhattan, arising from the South China Sea.” Hong Kong—like Manhattan—is one of those places that almost defies description. You just have to go and see for yourself.

For the first-time visitor to China like me , Hong Kong is a good starting place to ease into your culture shock. Flying into the sleek Chek Lap Kok Airport or walking down Hong Kong’s modern urban landscape, you’ll find a comfortable First-world familiarity as you fight through your jet lag.
Alternately, Hong Kong is also a good place to finish your voyage. The city’s conveniences and sophistication are a welcome change of pace—a cleansing breath of fresh air (well, not literally).
Well, I even have my travelling memories with this place. Well, my travelling story in Hong Kong was made in Christmas holidays of year '2018'.
So, here's my travelling story -
It was December (2018) where my family was all set to fly and explore , experience the distinctive cultures, histories, and landscapes of Hong Kong and Macao.
We were travelling in a group tour travel package which included places -
Hong Kong (3N)→Hong Kong (2 N) →Macao (2N )
It was 7 nights , 8 days Tour Package .
It was back then in 2018, when I travelled to Hong Kong and Macao.
I was back in 13 th December 2018 , when I was all set to fly to Hong Kong .
That day, my flight was from –
 MUMBAI ✈ – Hong Kong (HK) ✈.
Airlines Cathay Pacific,
Well, after 8-9 hrs of travel journey, I had finally arrived to HK and it was nearly 10 at the morning there, later I had to check in the hotel. The Overnight was at Regal oriental Hotel, HK .
After lunch, at The Indian Curry restaurant which was the best and most memorable place for food for my family. The food cooked over there used to literally have the same taste and flavor as my mom used to have. And the best thing of this restaurant was that it was just 4 mins (600 mtrs) away from our hotel.
So basically after having a nice meal, we were all set to explore HK and the first place to visit on the first day was The Victoria Peak and The Sky Terrace 428 ..

                             HK Skyline

HK Skyline through Sky Terrace 428

The Day 1 had ended by exploring the HK skyline from the peak and sky terrace.
DAY 2 - 14/12/2018
Ocean Park, Hong Kong (HK)
The 2nd Day was adventurous and exciting as the entire day was at Ocean Park . Well, we had travelled from both The Cable Car and The Ocean Express Train for exploring the park and enjoying all rides in Trill Mountain in Ocean Park and Yass!! the most favourite ride The Flash .
DOLPHIN

DAY 3 - 15/12/2018
 Disneyland, Hong Kong (HK)

The Day 3 in HK was all magical and had all dreams come true vibes.

I’ll be honest: When I first visited Hong Kong Disneyland a decade ago, I was underwhelmed. It was a small theme park, with attractions that seemed like a watered-down, almost pirated version of Disney magic. So when the park became part of our plans on our latest 7D Hong Kong trip, my reaction was a solid “meh”.

But this story has a happy ending — cheesy, but that’s what this park has done to me — and I didn’t want to leave. The new-and-improved rides, shows, and decor are nothing short of world-class, and there’s a real sense of magic in the air. And I say this as a full-grown adult, so you know it must be true!

DAY 4 - 16/12/2018
Hong Kong, HK
The 4 th day was free day where we had spent the entire day on shopping and exploring others different places in the entire HK.
HK 's Times Square which was at Causeway Bay was known for shopping in HK and even the Ladies Market was the one. The best place I could remember was the " PARKn shop " the shop where u can nearly find everything u want including chocolates.
The "PARKn Shop " was known the nearest store as it was just the next lane from our hotel.
Well, the day four was all about shopping and hence it was well spent day.
DAY 5 - 17 /12/2018
Ngong Ping 360 , HK
This was our last and 5 th day in HK and we had to visit Ngong Ping and the Big Buddha , and Po Lin Monastery
Ngong Ping Cabel Car - From the Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal,it started amazing Lantau journey with a cable car ride with almost 25-30 mins duration to the destination.

Ngong Ping Village - Ngong Ping Village has a variety of shops for a lovely walking tour. The antiquity, architecture and landscaped designs of the village make it the perfect backdrop for picturing your children.

The Big Buddha -
Walking from Ngong Ping Village towards the mountainous side, you will see the magnificent Big Buddha - the world’s second largest outdoor bronze seated Buddha statue, sitting atop Muk Yue Shan in Ngong Ping. The majestic statue was built over 12 years and it depicts the sitting posture of Siddhartha Gautama when he was enlightened under the Bodhi Tree.
And this was the last day in HK. As , we were travelling to Macao with Cotai Ferry the next day.

DAY 6 - 18/12/2018 -
 MACAO ( Taipa)

It was our first day at Macao and we had already checked in after the arrival at The Venetian Macao for 2 nights, 3 days.
The first day after check in was all about exploring the hotel and the casinos around the Macao .The one casino I could remember is the Roman one. The rome replicas and the Sands Macao. Apart from casinos in Macao, I would say Shopping Or Shoppes. As, I could literally find shops everywhere in the Venetian , and well I still remember the gift shop at the hotel . We did had enjoyed the dine at the The Golden Peacock which was known for Indian cuisine and the Cafe Deco were the two places for food for us there. The overnight was at the hotel itself.

DAY 7 - 19/12/2018 - MACAO ( Taipa)

The 2nd day at Macao had a half - day city tour while exploring and visiting A-Ma Temple , the temple of Chinese sea goddess located in São Lourenço, Macao and the St. Paul's Church .

And the last of the day was the Macao Tower , Reaching a neck-pinching height of 1,109 feet (338 meters), Macau Tower dominates Macau’s skyline and offers sweeping views of the peninsula for over one million visitors per year. Visitors without a fear of heights can rapidly ascend the high-speed, glass-fronted elevator to the tower observation decks on the 58th and 61st floors.Well , AJ Hackett Bungy jumping , skywalk and skyjump were known worldwide and I opted for Skywalk as Bungy jumping was too scary. And, this was the last place to come by in this travel trip .

Well, this was my recent and last travel trip up till now and counting more in my list to explore in upcoming years.

As, it's said that the best stories are found in the pages of the passport and these were my travelling stories, and counting more to explore and What's yours?

Thank you for visiting my blog :))
