NASA , USA TRAVEL DIARIES (2013)

MAY 2013

This Travel Trip beings  back to me since 2013 …

. It was back then in 2013 , when I travelled to USA.

I was back in 13 th MAY 2013 , when I was all set to fly to USA .That day, my flight was from – MUMBAI ✈ – London ✈ – NEW YORK ✈.

and I was travelling with Airlines Virgin Atlantic ( London via New York).

Well, after 14 hrs of travel journey, I had finally arrived to New York and it was 6 at the evening there, later I had to check in the hotel itself. Overnight in New York (NYC) – Comfort Inn , NYC.

We were travelling in a group tour travel package which included places –

New York (2N)✈→New Jersey ✈→Orlando, FL (5N) ✈– Disneyland – Kennedy Space Center – Universal Studios→New York – Times Square – Niagara Falls.

The very next day was at NYC and this is how I started creating memories in USA –

DAY 1 – 14/05/2013

NEW YORK (NYC) , USA

The DAY 1 had started with walking in the streets in NEW JERSEY and having a ride to visit STATUE OF LIBERTY , NYC .

After, having lunch and a visit to STATUE OF LIBERTY, I had shopping time at WALMART and MARCY’S , NYC Time Squares which was nearer to the hotel.

Well I couldn’t forget of meeting HELLO KITTY IN NYC time square in front of Sanrio Shop , as I actually had to shop for my lit sister . Now it’s 10-11 years (2024) since I met her .

Well , as Embassy renewed my visa for 10 more years in May 2024 . It’s got renewed again in total 20 years .in 4 passports

Well, I do had to catch another flight to ORLANDO by that evening.

So basically I was flying to ORLANDO via NEW YORK with DELTA AIRLINES .

After, travelling from NYC to ORLANDO , I had immediately check in to the hotel and the overnight in ORLANDO – Quality Inn , Orlando.

DAY 2 – 15/05/2013

ORLANDO, FL – DISNEYLAND  

The 2nd Day , was all meant to be a bit magical and as I was at ORLANDO, FL in the morning, where I had to spend my entire day in DISNEYLAND, ORLANDO. This day was known to be magical and adventurous with fun rides in Disneyland, FL. And Yasss! I had ride in Space Mountain ,one of my favorite rides in Disneyland .The Afternoon was all magical as I was at The Parade – ‘ Dream Come True ‘ Parade, and the day ended by The Electric Fireworks in Disneyland.

DAY 3 – 16/05/2013

ATX TRAINING – Kennedy Space Center , FL (DAY 1)

It was Day 1 in Kennedy Space Center , Orlando wherein we had Astronaut Training Experience ( ATX ) –

 Astronaut Training Experience -We had to work in teams to follow the Engineering Design Process (ask, imagine, plan, create, test, revise) to solve a variety of engineering challenges .Land, walk and drive on Mars through virtual and motion simulation, and conduct a spacewalk in a microgravity experience.

DAY 1 TRAINING –

REVOLUTION OF SUN .                                              The DAY 1 in ATX was about live and work on Mars for the day in Mars Base 1. Work together to solve base operations emergencies, program robots to optimize solar energy, and sustain life in the Botany Lab.l

DAY 4 – 17/05/2013

Kennedy Space Center VISITOR COMPLEX ,Orlando (DAY 2)

Rocket Gardens, Kennedy Space Center , Orlando, FL.

The DAY 2 was all about Tour exhibits and attractions throughout the visitor complex and encounter everyday challenges of astronauts and engineers through hands-on activities and experiments.Hear real-life stories from a real veteran NASA astronaut.

DAY 2 TRAINING –

1) Lunch with an astronaut.

2) Tour at Rocket Garden, and Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

 DAY 5 - 19/05/2013 

 UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, ORLANDO, FL 

Start the day at Universal Studios to become minion-ized on Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem’s 3D simulator before battling Decepticons face-to-face on TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D, which have long lines in the afternoon. From there, head straight to the park’s immersive Diagon Alley to ride Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts before grabbing an early lunch at the Leaky Cauldron, whose delectable fish & chips will make you think you’ve been floo’d to London. Wander through the whimsical stores on its cobblestone streets as you exit to King’s Cross Station and board the Hogwarts Express train, an attraction mimicking the journey of Harry and friends that doubles as transportation to Universal’s second park, Islands of Adventure.

DAY 7 – 21/05/2013 

 NIAGARA FALLS, NYC 

You have a choice of visiting the American side or the Canadian side of the falls during the booking process. For those who chose the Canadian side, the trip over the border requires an extra 30 minutes at this point. Upon leaving the bus we picked up our wrist bands for the trolley (a small open bus) that takes you from one attraction to the next within the park. Our friendly bus driver informed us that we would have until 4:00 p.m. to explore the expansive park.

We had booked tickets to the American side of the park, where we experienced every attraction available as they were all included in the ticket price. We particularly liked the Maid of the Mist boat tour.

Maid of the Mist” boat tour:

The sightseeing boat “Maid of the Mist” allows you to enjoy a misty 30-minute boat tour that will take you to the base of the American Falls as well as the turbulent waters of Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side. This historic boat tour has been operating since the middle of the 19th century and is among the most popular attractions in North America.

And these are days well spent which i do remember till date of this travel diary i had made and the memories I had created in USA .Days well spent.
